Product & Customer Research Lead

Help us decide what to build, who to build for, and what customers will actually pay for. Run discovery, synthesise evidence, and keep the team out of the build-in-isolation trap.

Veraclins Tech Solutions is building software products across tax, education, SME operations, recruitment, and AI-assisted workflows. We are a technical-heavy team and need a strong Product & Customer Research Lead to help us decide what to build, who to build for, and what customers will actually pay for.

This role is about market evidence, not theory. You will speak to users, buyers, operators, and industry experts; synthesise what you learn; and help the team avoid building products in isolation.

What you'll do

  • Plan and run customer discovery for new and existing product ideas.
  • Interview SMEs, accountants, educators, students, recruiters, business owners, and other target users.
  • Identify urgent pain points, buying triggers, current alternatives, budget owners, and willingness to pay.
  • Design surveys, interview guides, concept tests, landing page tests, and prototype feedback sessions.
  • Work with the PM and designer to turn research into product requirements, user journeys, and MVP scope.
  • Produce concise research briefs with clear recommendations: build, narrow, pause, or kill.
  • Help prioritise Veraclins' product ideas based on demand, market size, urgency, and feasibility.
  • Support pricing research, competitor analysis, and market segmentation.
  • Build a reusable customer research repository for the company.

Hard requirements

  • Based in Abuja, Nigeria — required for in-person interviews, fieldwork, and team collaboration.
  • 3+ years in product research, user research, customer discovery, product management, market research, strategy, or a similar role.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting user / customer interviews and synthesising insights into decisions.
  • Strong ability to separate "interesting feedback" from real buying intent.
  • Excellent written communication — clear briefs, summaries, and recommendations.
  • Comfortable speaking with business owners, operators, professionals, students, and non-technical users.
  • Strong understanding of Nigerian market behaviour, especially around SMEs, education, finance, recruitment, or professional services.
  • Able to work independently with minimal structure.
  • Comfortable using AI tools for research prep, transcript analysis, synthesis, survey drafting, and competitive research.

Nice to haves

  • Experience validating early-stage products or MVPs.
  • Experience in B2B SaaS, fintech, edtech, tax / compliance, SME tools, HR / recruitment, or marketplace products.
  • Product management or UX research experience.
  • Experience designing experiments to test demand before engineering investment.
  • Familiarity with analytics tools, survey tools, CRM tools, Notion, Airtable, or Figma.
  • Existing access to SME owners, accountants, teachers, students, schools, recruiters, or business communities.

What success looks like

  • Veraclins has a clear picture of which product ideas deserve focus.
  • Each product has defined customer segments, painful use cases, and testable assumptions.
  • The team stops relying on internal opinions alone.
  • MVPs become smaller, sharper, and more connected to real demand.
  • Research directly influences roadmap, messaging, pricing, and GTM.

  4. Final conversation to walk through your exercise and meet the team.
  5. Offer, with references checked in parallel.

How to apply

Send your CV or LinkedIn profile and a short answer to these two questions:
